4th Lord Dutton
Hugh was born in 1155.
Circa 1170-75, Hugh of Dutton granted one carrucate of land in Weston, near Runcorn in Cheshire, to his son Adam, with the consent of his eldest son, Hugh; Adam did homage for it to his elder brother, Hugh, and held it of his father as his knight, for an annual render of a pair of gilt spurs, which Hugh confirmed by charter witnessed by Henry prior of Norton, Richard Phitone, Geoffrey Escrope [Scrope], Ivo of Daiville, Radulf of Bidon, Randulf son of Gilbert, John son of Thurstan, Maheu his son, Hamo of Berdinton [Bartington], Henry of Esteleia, Wrono, Warino, William son of Ivo, Robert son of Roger, Haketto son of Haketti, Geoffrey of Meringes, Gilbert son of Rannulf. William Legat.[1]
