Biography

He was a Cumberland Presbyterian minister.

REV. FRANCIS F. KELLER was born January 25, 1817; was married to Elizabeth Norton, June 2, 1836; professed religion and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church art Union church, Coffee county, Tenn., at a camp-meeting held in the year 1841; was elected ruling elder a short time after he united with the church; was licensed to preach in 1860; was ordained by the West Prairie Presbytery, at Des Arc, Iron county, Mo., in October, 1872; died March 1, 1878. The above is the outline biography of a good and useful man; so it may be said in short of the multitudes who have so lived and passed away. If thought worthy, a surviving friend will very soon write the brief epitaph of us all. Bro. Keller was limited in literary and financial advantages, but made up in great part for these lacks by industrious and sacrificing labor for the Master. He was sound and firm in the doctrines of the Bible, as set forth in our Confession of Faith; a true friend of the Church, and a good Presbyter. What more can be said of any than that they occupy the time allotted them as best they can. Bro. Keller had just taken a letter from West Prairie Presbytery to aid in constituting a new Presbytery (Crowley's Ridge), created last fall by order of the White River Synod. In this section of country--Green and Clay counties, Ark.--he had been laboring successfully for several years. His wife and two or three grown sons survive him. God bless them. IRONDALE, MO.[1]
