Biography

Elizabeth Oliver-Gascoigne was born on 9 September 1812. She was the daughter of Richard Philip Oliver-Gascoigne and Mary Turner.

In 1845 she and her sister commissioned the building of the present day Castle Oliver in County Limerick in Ireland.

She married Frederick Mason Trench, 2nd Baron Ashtown, son of Francis Trench and Mary Mason, on 10 February 1852 at Aberford, Yorkshire, West Riding, England.

From 10 February 1852, her married name became Trench. She gained the title of Baroness Ashtown on 10 February 1852.

She and her husband occupied Castlle Oliver. The house was later inherited by Elizabeth's step-grandson, the Honourable William Cosby Trench.

She died on 23 February 1893 at age 80 at Hôtel National, Montreux, Switzerland. She was buried on 25 February 1893 at Territet, Switzerland. Her will was probated on 25 May 1893.

Her last will was dated from 2 November 1890 to 24 September 1892.
