The Kneeland family says George Trundy was sent to live with Rathburn Dodge of Isleborough, Maine [1792] when he was about age 7. See as "Rathburn [Dodge] born 1767 died 9/18/1846 age 79, married Lydia Pendleton, wealthiest man in Islesboro;"

Research Notes

" As Anna (Trundy) Crockett was a sister [should be a First Cousin] of George William Trundy, the father of Job Larrabee'g first wife and of Levi Trundy of Searsport (Ford's father), and as George William's (Meshach's son) grandson William Henry Tundy of North Searsport-- -wrote me under date of December 6, 1916:" "My grandfather, whose name was George William, first found himself in the home of one Rathburn Dodge at the early age of seven years* and further on in his letter states that Dodge lived in Islesboro* (probably the Rathburn Dodge of the First Census), I am inclined to think that Great-Grandmother Anna (Trundy) Crockett was a daughter of Samuel Trundy [Sr.] of Deer Isle, that her brother [should be First Cousin] George William (who was born in 1785) was that part of Samuel Trundy's family [George Trundy was the son of Samuel Sr.'s brother, Thomas Trundy] described by the figure "1" in the "First Census and that, probably because of death or business reverses, he was "farmed out" to Dodge where he found himself* two years later!" page 144 The Crockett Family THE KNEELAND MISCELLANY COMPILED BERTHA J AND FRANK E KNEELAND 1914-17
