Joanna Bean is the daughter of Lieutenant Benjamin Bean and Hanna (Swett) Bean of Raymond, New Hampshire.

Joanna married Jonathan Gilman, son of Lieutenant Jonathan Gilman and Mehitable (Kimball) Gilman.

Children of Joanna and Jonathan are:

Hannah Gilman, born 1784, married George Ricker;

Elizabeth Gilman, born 1788, married Simon N. Ricker;

Porter Gilman, born circa 1792, first married Sarah Leavitt, and second, Ann Berry;

Jesse Gilman, born April 14, 1789, married first Robie Pierce, and second Lydia Carlisle;

Caleb Gillman, born at Shapleigh, (now Acton) Maine;

Mehitable Gilman, died at Shapleigh, Maine, married Thomas Nason;

Jonathan Gilman, born circa 1804, died November 9, 1828, Waterboro, Maine, age 24 years, 7 months

Joanna and Jonathan are buried in the Town House Cemetery, in Waterboro York County, Maine. ^[1]
