Biography

Catherine was born on 18 December 1894. She was the daughter of Edward Duncan Stoney and Ellen Naomi Pope.^[1]

Catherine usually went by her middle name of Ruth.

Her father died when she was 4 years old.

In the 1911 census she was recorded in the household of her grandmother Anne Elizabeth Stoney in Eastbourne, Sussex. She was aged 16. Also in the household was her mother Ellen, her brother Francis and sister Margaret.

In 1939 she was recorded as Farmer and unpaid domestic duties at Spider Hall, Lower Raydon, Ipswich, Suffolk, England with her sister Margaret.^[2]

She lived in 1976 at Spider Hall, Lower Raydon, Ipswich, Suffolk, England.
