HOG BAY NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
Wednesday, October 28.
MATRIMONIAL.
On Wednesday evening last the marriage of Mr. J. E. Lovering to Miss C. F. Gobell took place at the residence of the bride's father, Salt Lagoon. The wedding ceremony was celebrated in the presence of only a few other than relatives by the Rev. J. Shaw but the reception was a well attended function. Mr. A. Gobell acted as best man and Miss V. Gobell as bridesmaid. At the wedding breakfast the toast of the bride and bridegroom was enthusiastically honored the speeches being made by Rev. J. Shaw, Mr. E. L. Bates and Mr. J. M. Grimshaw. Sandwiched between the dances were songs by Mr. J. M. Grimshaw and Miss Wheaton while Rev. J. Shaw and Mr. Robt. Wheaton gave recitations. Supper was served about midnight the wedding cake, of course, being a centre of attraction. This was a beautiful ornamented three-storied delicacy. The bridegroom, in responding to the toast of the "Bride and Bridegroom" advised all the single persons present to "toe the line" as soon as possible as it was far preferable to single blessedness. No doubt some of our eligible personages round here may take the hint in good time. Altogether an enjoyable time was spent, and under Mr. A. J. Christie's supervision dancing was carried out till about 4 a.m. The happy couple left per Thursday's steamer for their honeymoon.
