Biography
Foster was born on 19 December 1862 in Hancock, IL. He was the son of John Hebron Harter and Susan Ellen Howell.
In 1882, Foster married Martha H. Salvage. They had 2 children: Ralph Cleveland Harter and Clara Ethel Ellen Harter. Martha Savage, ran off with Isaac Harter, deserting her husband and (2) children. Sometime before 1904, they were officially divorced.
On 19 September 1904, when Foster was 41, he married Anna Marie Dunlavy . The couple had one child: Raymond Carlson Harter.
Foster died at the age of 80 on 22 March 1943 in Fairfield, Jefferson Co., IA.
Foster was buried after 22 March 1943 in Hickory Grove Cem., Van Buren Co., IA.
John Hebron Harter married Susan Ellen Howell on 27 November 1843 in Jefferson Co., IA. The couple had 6 children: Mary M. Harter, Louisa P. Harter, John Christian Harter, Arvilla Anne Harter, George Washington Harter and Foster Isaac Harter.
