Biography

Daniel Malbon who was born 12 Mar 1707, baptised in Clairegoutte parish which is a province of Haute-Saone, 14 Mar 1707 and was the son of Abraham of Friderich Fontaine and Elisabeth Demougin.

Married Jeanne Marguerite Humbert likely in Montebeliard 19 Apr 1729. Estimated from age 40 in1752 and birth of last child. She died in Halifax, Nova Scotia about 16 Apr 1753.

Daniel arrived on the Priscilla, under Captain Brown arriving 17 Dec 1751 in Boston. Jean Pochard who later who married Daniel's daughter Elizabeth Betsey was also on the ship.

31 of the ships passengers signed a letter for Joseph Crellius relating how great life was in this place. It was dated 3 Dec 175 and witnessed with acknowledgement 17 Dec 1751.

• According to a letter date 4 Mar 1997 from the Public Archives of Nova Scotia, the burial records of St. John's Angelican Church (Lunenburg, NS) show the following: 17 Mar 1753 Susanne; 5 Apr 1753 and 16 Apr 1753 Marg(arette). They also indicate they died in Halifax according to Allan Everett Marble, Surgeon's Smallpox and the Poor: A History of Medicine ad Social Conditions in Nova Scoti, 1749-1799 (Montreal and Kingston: McGill-Queens University Press, 1993), p. 34, the settlers were no transferred to Lunenbyrg abiyt 6 Jun 1753.
