Zeviah (Gray) Stanley was a Connecticuter.

ZERVIAH GRAY, b. at Tolland, 9 Jul 1742[1] daughter of Abiel and Zerviah (Hatch) Gray;[2] d. at Shoreham, VT, 19 Aug 1828;[3] m. at West Hartford, 18 Nov 1762, AMOS STANLEY, baptized at Hartford, 26 Aug 1739 son of Samuel and Anne (Bracey) Stanley;[4] Amos d. at Becket, MA (burial at Lenox), 25 Jan 1811.[5]

Zerviah and Amos were married in Connecticut and started their family there. They relocated to Lenox, Massachusetts and then to Becket where Amos died. After her husband’s death, Zerviah went with her son Amos to Shoreham, Vermont where she died.

Amos was a prominent citizen of Lenox serving as surveyor of highways, tythingman, moderator of town meetings, and member of the committee on correspondence.[6] Amos was one of the originating members of the Congregational church at Lenox and one of the first deacons.[7]

In his will written 4 June 1802 (proved 7 July 1812), Amos Stanley of Becket bequeathed to beloved wife Zerviah one-third of the real and personal estates during her life and the great bible. Son John G. Stanley receives a piece of land in Lenox which was reasonably deeded to Amos by Calvin Burnham and another lot of land on which John G. now lives. John G. is to pay $840, the amount of a note John owes to his father, to the other children to be equally divided among them: Amos Stanley, Jr., Zerviah Weeks, and Amanda Falley. The remainder of the estate both real and personal is to be equally divided among Amos, Zerviah, and Amanda. Son John G. Stanley was named executor. Real estate was valued at $1,810.[8]
