Biography

Anna was born in July, 1872 in Maine, probably Machias. She completed five years of college.

Anna lived with her parents and siblings in Minneapolis in 1895.

From 1896 through 1905, she was a clerk, cashier, and waitress for C. W. Bridgham. It appears that she worked at her father’s restaurant. She was a noted amateur photographer, with her work displayed under the auspices of the Minneapolis Society of Fine Arts.

In 1905, Anna Bridgham lived with her parents at 3223 Portland Ave. in Minneapolis, where she was a cashier (presumably in her father’s restaurant).

In 1910, unmarried Annie M. Bridgham owned her home without mortgage at 3239 Portland Ave. in Minneapolis. Living with her were her sister Josephine and brother Charles W, Jr., and father Charles W., Sr. She also had two boarders, 64-year-old Emma Batchelor and 25-year-old Teddy Schain.

In May 1913, she moved from Minneapolis to Mount Vernon, Washington to be close to her family, who had moved to Washington earlier.

In 1920, she lived in the household of her brother-in-law R. W., and sister Josephine McKinstry on Fifth St. North in Mount Vernon.

In 1930, Ann lived in the household of her brother-in-law, Richard McKinstry on North Beach Rd. in Guemes, Washington. She was reported to “have been quite ill” in May, 1933.

In 1940, she lived in Burton, Washington, in the home of her brother-in-law Richard Wm. McKinstry and sister, Josephine (Bridgham) McKinstry. She had lived at a different location in Burton in 1935.

It appears that she never married. She died on November 7, 1948, in Burton, at the age of 76. She is buried in Vashon Island Cemetery in Vashon, Washington.
