William married Margaret Ellen Rhodes (born in Nova Scotia on 16 Mar 1831; died in Brockton, Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States on 27 Jul 1913), daughter of John Rhodes and Parmelia Parker, on 16 Oct 1856 in Christ Church, Amherst, Nova Scotia. Their daughter was Margaret Ella (Babcock) Turcott (1866 - 1922).
William died on 26 Nov 1911 in Brockton aged 78. He is buried in West Amherst Cemetery, Nova Scotia.[1]

From Find a Grave: Information received from funeral records at Brockton, MA: William's body was shipped to Amherst, NS, then taken by hearse to Black Cemetery. (Black Cemetery is located beside the West Amherst (Old Burying Ground) Cemetery in Cumberland County.) This Cemetery is the same as the Old Burying Ground located near the Fort Lawrence Historical Marker and on the Trenholm Farm behind the Barn.
