Biography

Moses Eggleston was born on September 3, 1743,^[1] to Joseph Eggleston and Abigail (Weller) Eggleston - widow of Azariah Ashley (1704-1728) - of Westfield, Massachusetts Bay Colony.^[2]

In about 1763, Moses married (1st) Joanna Westover in Westfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts Bay Colony.{citation needed} The couple had several children, including:

1. Moses (1764-)

2. Polly (1772-1809), m. 22 Aug 1793, Joseph Matthews (1772-1845)

3. Alanson (1782-1856), m. Loretta Sheldon (1788-1850)

It appears that wife Joanna passed away at about the time that Alanson was born.{citation needed}

On May 24, 1784, Moses married (2nd) Mary Dickson in Middlefield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts.^[3][4]

The couple had one known child, a daughter they named Zilpah, who was born in Middlefield, Massachusetts, on March 4, 1785.^[5][6]

Moses passed away on August 31, 1794, in Westfield, Massachusetts, USA.^[1] He is buried in East Bloomfield Cemetery, East Bloomfield, Ontario County, New York, USA.^[1]

Moses was born about 1740. He passed away about 1800.
