Biography
Maurice Nelson, eldest surviving child of Edmund Nelson and his wife, Catherine Suckling was born at Sporle in 1753 and was baptised at Swaffham on the 10th of June. [1]
He has been described as conscientious, kindly and dull. Unable to live on his pay as a clerk at the Navy Office he soon got into debt. [2]Maurice died on 24 April 1801. [3] [4] Probate was granted on 9 June 1801] [5]
