↑ Source: #S240 Page: Bruce Mullendore <bruce mwt.net> to Suzanne Dunbar [dunbarfamily2 comcast.net] Data: Text: About Joseph and Martha Ann, she went to Madison on June 8, 1875 and was there until she died Dec 3, 1932. She was there 57 years. We know Joseph did go to see her. I do not know if they were divorced or not, but I would hope they were. Where could a record be found on that? She appears on the census with the family, even when she was in Madison, then later, I can't remember right now how long, but some years later, her name no longer appeared with the family. Ellen's marriage to Joseph Rawson is recorded in the Richland Courthouse in Richland Center, WI. I have June 13, 1881. Volume D, page 326. Her death certificate is there too, Volume D, page 9. Ellen was born Nov. 27, 1826 in Kentucky and died May 27, 1893 at Sylvan Township, Richland Co. WI. Ellen was buried at the Felton Cemetery, Richland Co. WI. beside her first husband, Solomon Hall. Solomon was born Jan 14, 1822 and died March 3, 1880. Ellen was the daughter of William B. Owen or Oens and Rachel Poytner. Ellen's parents both were born in Montgomery Co. Kentucky, he in 1805 and she in 1802. BothWilliam and Rachel died at the home of Joseph Rawson at Sylvan. The newspaper spelled the name "Owens" but there is an Oens Cemetery in Richland Co. so probably Oens is correct. I couldn't find where they were buried. They had a son named Edwin too. They were strong Methodists. I'm looking forward to hearing about the Grant Cemtery in IL. Virginia
