Biography
Samuel Doten, was son of Samuel Doten and Eunice Robbins. He, was born in N. Yarmouth, Me., on June 11, 1783, He married in Plymouth, Mass., on June 29, 1807, to Rebecca Bradford. She was born there in 1788. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Bradford and Rebecca Holmes.
Samuel was a mariner, and in 1812 Captain of a privateer; was imprisoned at Dartmoor, and had many adventures. Samuel and Rebecca lived in Plymouth, where he died on Sept. 8, 1862; she died in 1870.
