Biography

Jakob Alfred Sandberg was born on November 22, 1841 in Täby.

He was a tailor's apprentice in Sweden.

He was married twice, to two sisters: Ida Vilhelmina Spångberg b. 1850 and after her death, to her younger sister Anna Lovisa Spångberg b. 1856.

Jakob had two children with his first wife, and six children with his second. Five of them were born in Minnesota.

He married Ida Vilhelmina Spångberg on October 4, 1874. They had two children: Hugo Alfred b. 1877 and Emma Matilda b. 1879. Ida passed away in 1880.

Anna Lovisa Spångberg has daughter Elna Christina b. 1882. She is listed on the same page in the household book as Jakob for a period of time.

Jakob and Anna Lovisa emigrated to America on the same day: they all leave on May 6, 1884.

They settled in Lake City in Wabasha, Minnesota and changed their last name to Sanborn. Jakob worked as tailor.

He passed away on April 27, 1919 in Lake City in Wabasha, Minnesota. He was buried in Oakwood cemetery in Wabasha on May 1, 1919.[1]
