Biography

Elsie's parents Edward Charpiot and Mittie Collier were married in Jefferson County, Texas, on December 28, 1892.^[1] He would have been 29 years old and she 18.

The 1920 United States Census^[2] found Edward "C" Charpiot, a white male age 56, living in Justice Precinct 4, Harris, Texas, the owner of his house and land. The residents of this household were as follows:

The 1930 United States Census^[3] found Edward S "Charfriot", a white male age 64, living in Precinct 4, Harris, Texas. He was listed as the widowed head of household. The residents of this household were as follows:

On 12 Jul 1935, Elsie Addie Charpiot Wisenbaker and Maurice Glenn Wisenbaker had a son, Martin Glenn Wisenbaker. Martin was born at St. Joseph's Infirmary in Houston, Harris, Texas. Maurice was 25 years old, born in Graham, Texas, and had worked for the last seven years as an inspector at Hughes Tool Co. Elsie was 22 years old and apparently had been a housewife for one year. The birth certificate further stated that Martin was Elsie's firstborn.^[4][5]
