LeRoy Parkinson Tanner was born on January 12, 1895 in Joseph City, Navajo County, Arizona.[1] He was the son of Henry Tanner and Eliza Parkinson.[2] At age 5, he was in his parent's home in St Joseph, Navajo County, Arizona along with 8 siblings.[3]
He served in the Army in WWI, in St. Louis, Missouri.[4] He was discharged on June 19, 1919 in Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas.[5]
He married Eva Margaret Overson on August 23, 1923 in Apache County, Arizona.[6] They had 2 children.
They made their home in St John's, Apache County, Arizona in 1930, where he was a farmer. They their 2 sons, Wallace-5, and Lee H-1, by this time.[8]
His wife Eva Margaret passed away on December 30, 1932, in Apache, Arizona, at the age of 35. They had been married 9 years.
He married Clara Peterson on October 14, 1934 in St Johns, Apache County, Arizona.[9]
He and Clara were living in Apache County, Arizona in 1940, where he was working as a Grade Forman for a Road Construction Project. By then the boys were ages 15, and 10.[10]
He passed away on November 5, 1944,[4] at the age of 45, in Grants, Valencia county, (Now Cibila county) New Mexico,[11] and was buried in the Saint Johns Cemetery in Saint Johns, Apache County, Arizona.[1] He died in a Truck-train Collision.[11]
