Biography
Shirley Maxine Nelson was the daughter of Alfred W. Nelson and Sarah E. Kidd. [1]
Her parents lived on Barrett Avenue in Jamestown, NY. She graduated from Jamestown High School, Class of 1941, and in 1943 was employed as Secretary to the General Superintendent of the Curtiss-Wright Corporation Airport Plant in Buffalo. She was living at the home of Mrs. R. C. Rhea in Snyder, NY.
She married Wilson D. Olmsted on August 28, 1943; they resided in the Buffalo area for many years and sometime after 1950 moved to Towanda, Bradford County, PA. They had two children and then divorced before 1960. She married Dr. Wilbur D. Abbott on March 2, 1960 in Clark County, Nevada.
She died April 1989 and is buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Towanda, Bradford County, PA. [2]
