Walter Gray Manis was born on Christmas day 1888. He and Mae Smelser were married in 1910. [1][2] The marriage certificate states Ernest Murr was with Walter to bond the marriage. They may have been best friends.
Walter and Mae had four children, of whom four survived. Walter passed away in 1955.[3] He and Mae are buried at the Knob Creek Baptist church cemetery.[4][5]
