The children were born in various parts of Co. Kilkenny, reflecting our grandfather's postings. - 'The Creaven or Craven families' Family history letters dated 1979/1980

Son of Thomas Creaven.

Residence (1878): 2 Parkgate Street, Dublin

Residence (1880): 5 Upper Mount Pleasant Avenue, Castletownroche (Co. Cork)

Passed away at the age of 57 from (cannot read the cursive). [1]

Protestant Sáirsint (Sergeant) in the Royal Irish Constabulary.

His great grandson (my Dad), visited the police station in Kilkenny (Jan 2016) where he worked and the staff said that he would have been an UK loyalist who moved around the country as a protestant civil servant working for the police, not the average Roman Catholic Irish Republican.
