Cyrus, and his twin brother, Hannibal Hamlin, were born in 1769 in Pembroke, Massachusetts to Major Eleazer and his first wife, Lydia Bonney Hamlin. They moved, with their family, to Harvard, Massachusetts in the mid-1770s.
Cyrus Hamlin studied medicine at Harvard College and was subsequently invited by early settlers of Livermore, Maine in 1795 to settle in their community. He accepted their offer, married Anna Livermore about 1797, and served over the next decade, as town clerk, treasurer and moderator, and representative of LIvermore in the general court of Massachusetts in 1803.
Cyrus Hamlin and Anna Livermore, both of Livermore, Maine (then in Massachusetts), published there on 11 Nov 1797 their intention to marry[1] and they married there on 4 Dec 1797.[2]
Dr. Hamlin bought a property in Paris Hill about 1805; he moved there with his wife and three children in 1806. He was invited to be Clerk of Courts and later sheriff of Oxford County.
Dr Cyrus Hamlin died 3 February 1829 in Paris Hill, Maine.
