Biography

Elias was born 11 December 1815, in Dennis, Barnstable, Massachusetts. He was the son of Lot Chase Jr. (1773-1850) and Esther (Bassett) Chase (1781-1832). [1]

Elias Chase married Tryphosa G. Bassett, the widow of James Rogers, on 1 June 1843, in Dennis, Massachusetts. [2]

In 1850, Elias (age 33) and Tryphosa (age 30) were living in Harwich, Massachusetts, with James, the son of James and Tryphosa Rogers, (age 11), and the children of Elias and Tryphosa: Benjamin (age 6), Esther (age 2), and Lot Freeman (age under 6 months). [3]

Elias Chase passed away 10 July 1888, age 72, in Harwich, Massachusetts.[4] He is buried in the Swan lake Cemetery in Dennisport, Massachusetts. [5]
