"Gardener And Quilt Maker Dies"
Miss Rosa Jane Duncan, 79, of Duncan Rd. Briceville Rt 1, died at 5:05 a.m. Sunday at Oak Ridge Hospital of pneumonia and a stroke. She was a member of Laurel Grove Baptist Church for 64 years and enjoyed making quilts and flower gardening. Miss Duncan was a native of Duncan Flats and the daughter of the late Eligah Frost and Mary Magdeline Duncan. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Lonnie Patterson of Oliver Springs, and two brothers, Sammie D. Duncan and Byrd W. Duncan Sr. of Briceville Rt. 1. Funeral services were held Monday at Laurel Grove Baptist with the Rev. Edwin Phillips and the Rev. James Harness officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
