Mary Lea Smith, 82, of Jacksonville, formerly of Lake Dallas, passed away on April 14, 2009, at the East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. She was born August 25, 1926, in Krum, TX, to Homer Edward and Eva (Walker) Inmon. She was married to Lewis D. "Jiggs" Smith on August 22, 1944, in Marietta, Oklahoma. He passed away in 1981. She was a member of the Corinth Road Church of Christ in Jacksonville and formerly the Lake Dallas Church of Christ. She was a Homemaker. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009, in the Lake Dallas Church of Christ, with Kent Hall and Andy Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Swisher Cemetery. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., in Denton on Friday, April 17, 2009, for visitation. Mrs. Smith is survived by two sons, Roger "Mike" Smith of Sanger and Lewis D. "Don" Smith of Jacksonville; two sisters, Ethel Cofer of Denton and Betty Carson of Valley View; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
