Biography

Reliance Cobb was born September 30, 1728, the daughter of Eleazar Cobb and Rebecca Paine of Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts^{[1] [2] [3]}

In 1747, she married Paul Crowell, a widower, the son of Paul Crowell and Elizabeth Hallett, of Chatham, Barnstable, Massachusetts ^{[3] [4]}, and their children included:

1. Rebecca, born 1747, who married Nathan Sears, son of Judah on December 4, 1764^[4]
2. Benjamin, born Feb 19, 1754, who died in 1801^[4]
3. Eleazar, who died young^[4]
4. Eleazar, born Feb 15, 1750^[5], who died December 9, 1773, unmarried^[4]
5. Joseph, born April 27, 1752, who married Azuba Smith, daughter of Isaac on December 9, 1773^[4]
6. Abigail, born May 2, 1756, who died young^[4]
7. Zaddock, born August 1, 1757, who had a child named Betsey and who died before 1801^[4]
8. Reliance, born 1759, who married James Hopkins son of Samuel on March 7, 1776^[4]
9. Patience, born 1761, who married Simeon Rider in 1888^[4]
10. Hallett, born June 1763, who married Betsey Paine and who died in 1833^[4]
