Son of Sir William Flower (1609-1662). Captain Henry Flower was born abt 1634 in Whitwell, England. His Baptism was on Aug 19th of that year so using that as a birth date for the present. He was married to Joan Purnell in abt 1656 in England. They had 5 known children born in England between 1658 and 1670:[1]
Lamrock's father's name on his baptismal record is Henry, but many sources have William's son Henry as a Lt-Col. in the British Army, marrying Ann Hewtry, and having no heirs.[2]

The Flower Family of Chepstow, Wales and the many "Lamrock" Flowers of Gloucester and Somerset counties seems to me to be the key to the origins of my great grandparents.
Re: his 'son' Lamrock is a very rare name & I don't expect the Lamarocks in Somerset are a coincidence. The 1st documented in Combe Hay in 1579. The Flowers appear to have been in this area for some time prior to this.
There are about a dozen Lamrock Flowers in either Somerset or Gloucester in England. The Flowers at Chepstow, Wales arrived there from the Somerset area of England. The Henry Flower I'm looking at is at Chew ton Mendip, Somerset, England. I found the baptismal record of, what I believe, Henry Flower. I have been in correspondence with a Flower family in Gloucester. They have the same issue. Finding "The" Henry Flower related directly to Lamrock Flower of 1579 at Comb Hay Parish there in England. If my 8 times great grandfather was born around 1660, as has been stated many times, the best result was the baptismal record I've published. The original Lamrock was centered at Saltford, England. For me, thats the beginning of my search for my grandfather, Henry Flower. There's always been great speculation about the Irish peerage connected to my family. Thanks to you, that's been confirmed. Just because my genealogy resources said, Captain William Flower was the father of Lamrock Flower of Hartford, Connecticut, doesn't make it so. Thank you for your efforts. All The Best, Patrick Flower
