Richard James Quinn, son of John Quinn and Marguerite (Frank) Quinn, was born in Quebec, Canada in May 1863.[1][2] His middle name is found on the death record of his son John Cahill Quinn.[3]
Richard immigrated to the United States about 1881.[2][4][5][6]
Richard married Annie Keenan in Hart's Location, Carroll County, New Hampshire in May 1890.[1][7] Their marriage record says that he was a surveyor and that she was a housemaid.[7]
Richard and Annie had the following children:

John Cahill, b. August 23, 1896 in Twin Mountain, New Hampshire, d. October 1, 1896 in Carroll, New Hampshire[3]
Jeannette/Janet ("Jennie"), b. about 1900 in Carroll, New Hampshire,[2][4][5][6] m. perhaps about 1938 George A. Rau[15]

The 1900 US Census for Carroll Town, New Hampshire shows a household headed by Richard Quinn (37) and containing his wife Annie (29), daughter Helena M (9), daughter Marguerite (7), son Richard A (5), daughter Jennie (8 months), sister-in-law Jennie Keenan. Richard's occupation was listed as grocer.[2]
The 1910 US Census for Carroll Township, New Hampshire shows a household headed by Richard (46) and containing wife Annie (38), daughter Helena M. (19), daughter Marguerite M. (17), son Allan R. (15), daughter Jeannette (10), son Phillip J. (8), daughter Elizabeth M. (5), son James F.X. (1), and brother Phillip J. (53). Richard's occupation was listed as salesman in a general store.[4]
Sometime between 1910 and 1920, Richard and his family moved to Sharon, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. The 1920 US Census for Sharon shows a household headed by Richard J. Quinn (57) and containing wife Annie (48), daughter Janet (20), son Philip (18), daughter Elizabeth M. (14), son Francis (11), and daughter Kathleen (5). Richard's occupation was listed as manager of a box factory.[5]
Sometime before 1930, the family moved from Sharon to neighboring Stoughton, Massachusetts. The 1930 US Census for Stoughton shows a household headed Richard J. Quinn (66) and containing wife Annie (59), daughter Janet C. (30), son Philip J. (28), son Francis X (21), daughter Kathleen (16), brother Philip J. Quinn (75), sister Elizabeth Quinn (78) and sister Margaret Quinn (73). Richard's occupation was listed as manager of a wood box factory.[6]
No record of the date or place of death of Richard Quinn has been found.
