Elizabeth Vandemark "Libbie" Quisenberry

Williamsburg - Elizabeth "Libbie" Vandemark Quisenberry, 95, widow of John Nuel Quisenberry, died Sunday, February 23, 2002. A native of Bloomington, New York, she was a Peninsula resident since 1939. Mrs. Quisenberry was a former devoted member of First Baptist Church, Newport News, where she was a member of the Lafayette Payne Sunday School Class. She traveled extensively and had many friends here and abroad.

Survivors include a daughter, Marnet Ware of Newport News; a son, Nuel Quisenberry of Hampton; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a faithful friend, Joyce Groome. She will be remembered by family and friends for the good times they shared.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 24, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Ware, 22 Stratford Road, Newport News. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of memorials to the Peninsula Rescue Mission, 3700 Huntington Avenue, Newport News, Virginia 23607. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
