Henry Ditzler worked his fathers mines and upon Nicolaus Ditzler's death in 1888, Henry inherited the mineral rights to his sisters Margretha and Catherine's property. Henry was a colorful person and was well liked in Sato. He married twice, first to Matilda Williamson. They had 2 children, Nicklas b.1875 and Dempsey b. 1877. Matilda died in 1879. In 1881, he married Julia Germann, with whom he had 10 more children. Henry drowned while "hogging" catfish in Galum Creek in the spring of 1899.
