Martin was born in 1774. He was the son of Martin Wells.[1] According to the Texas State History Association Online Handbook and the Find A Grave Memorial for his son Martin Wells, Jr. he married Sarah Boyd in 1807 and they had nine children, seven who survived to adulthood. One of those children was Jane Boyd Wells who married Norman Woods, and then Henry Gonzalvo Woods. [2] He passed away in 1836 in Bastrop County, Texas.[3][4]
