Biography

Bergsfogde Carl Törnblom was born in Sala in 1756 to surgeon (fältskär) Lars Törnblom and his wife Helena Sahlholm.[1] No specific address seems to have been recorded, except that it was in the southern quarter, but he lived with his parents until 1774[2][3][4] when he moved to Fernebo. He returned briefly after his father's death in 1783 but then moved to Nya Kopparberget (Ljusnarsberg)[5] where he married Maria Ulrika Tengman in 1785[6]. They lived at Lund[7][8][9][10] and had six children: Christina Ulrika, Benct Fredric, Carl Adolph, Claes Eric, Maria Elisabeth and Margreta Lovisa (who died just ten months old). Carl died from edema (vattusot) in 1806, 50 years old.[11]
