David William Murray, 3rd Earl of Mansfield, KT was born 7 Mar 1777, the son of Davit Murray, 7th Viscount Murray and later 2nd Earl of Mansfield, and Hon Louisa Cathcart, suo jure Countess of Mansfield. He m. 16 Sep 1797 Frederica Markham (b. c. 1774; d. 29 Apr 1860), 5th dau. of Most Rev William Markham DD, Archbishop of York 1776-1807, by his wife Sarah Goddard, dau. of John Goddard, of Cork and Rotterdam. He d. 18 Feb 1840.
