Biography

Thomas Rotch was born on 14 September 1792 to William Rotch Jr. and Elizabeth Rodman in New Bedford, Massachusetts.^[1][2]

Thomas married Susan Ridgeway on 8 May 1816. They had no children.^[1][2]

Thomas died on 1 October 1840 in Clermont, Pennsylvania.^[1][2]

Career

• Thomas was a 'friend of the slave,' and took part in the anti-slavery agitation at the time, including aiding fugitives who came to New Bedford.^[2]
