Biography
Son of Ebenezer and Lydia (Cogswell) Rockwell - born in Woppin which became East Windsor, Connecticut
Joab married Elizabeth Spraig/Sprague 1786 in Connecticut, USA - They lived near the Connecticut River within 15 miles of Hartford where they had ten children, six of whom died young
In 1808 they moved to Bennington, Genesee, New York and on to Brecksville, Cuyahoga, Ohio in 1817
Both Joab and Elizabeth died within days of each other while traveling from Ohio to New York - they were buried in a "Graveyard at the Corner of Martin Strong's Farm, 10 mi south of Erie, PA"
