Note N15A real little sweetheart. Small woman. Sat in her rocking chair saying at each birthday, "Guess I won't be here next year" as she sat & dipped snuff. Old German girl & had German ways of cooking - kraut - had an old stone jar she made her kraut in. Made her own butter from their car - depression days. She would sell the butter & cream to a peddlar who would sell it. Very conservative. Could get up & dance a jig in her 60's! Had a sister named Jennie who was very lively. She had a son, Floyd Gore, friend of BA's. Floyd & BA would put on boxing gloves and would spar in front of Jennie. 1

Obituary

Zelma Price Heffington, 93, of Conway passed from this life on May 26, 2014. She was born the youngest of twelve children to the late Howard Eugene and Maggie Dale (Ruple) Price in Holland, AR on February 28, 1921. Zelma enjoyed singing, music, the Arkansas Razorbacks, but most of all, time with her loving family. She was also a member of Liberty Church of Christ. 1 is survived by her two children; Bernadean Hogan (Lee), Gary Don Heffington (Bobbie), daughter-in-law; Carol Heffington, seven grandchildren; Robbie Lynn Heffington Jr., Mark Heffington, Michele Davis, Christie Paladino, Clint Hogan all of Conway, Lisa Coker of Vilonia, Julie Hutchinson of Springdale, seventeen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. 1

She is also preceded in death by her husband William Oren Heffington, one son; Robbie Lynn Heffington Sr., all eleven of her siblings, and her dear friend and former roommate Inez. 1

A Funeral Service will be held in her honor on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, with burial to follow at Heffington Cemetery in Enola. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. 1

Mrs. Heffington's family would like to thank the individuals of Heritage Living Center, Gentiva Hospice, and her roommate Phyllis for the love and care they showed to Zelma.

• Source: S157 Nansemond Indian Tribal Association Repository: #R71 NOTESource Medium: Internet The Nansemond Indians originally lived along the Nansemond River and were part of the empire (not a confederacy) ruled by Powhatan, the father of Pocahontas. When the English arrived in Virginia, the tribe had about 300 warriors and a total population of perhaps 1200 people. The Nansemonds were initially wary and often hostile toward the English, but by the 1630's some of them had changed their minds. A family sermon book still in the Chief's possession records the 1638 marriage of John Bass, and a Nansemond convert to Christianity named Elizabeth. Everyone in the modern Nansemond tribe is descended from that marriage.
