Robert was born in 1942. Robert Heft designed the 50-star flag as a student of Lancaster High School in Ohio in 1959.[1][2] Heft lived with his grandparents in Lancaster after his parents separated when he was about a year old.[2]
Robert Heft was a graduate of Ohio State University. He moved to of Napoleon, Ohio, in the early 1970s to manage the local movie theater and drive-in. He was mayor of Napoleon. Later, he sold real estate and taught at Northwest State Community College, Archbold, Ohio.
Bob Heft returned to the Saginaw area in his retirement to live in Thomas Township. He passed away in 2009 in Covenant Medical Center, Cooper Campus, Saginaw, Michigan, USA.[3][2]
