Richard was the younger son of Thomas de Lacy and Margaret de Tonge and heir from his brother John.[1] The family lived in Cromwell Bottom, Southowram, Yorkshire. The name of his wife is unknown. They had son named John.[2]
He died before 1424/5 when it was known that his son John had succeeeded him.[1]
