So, just out of curiosity, I looked up will of Robert Cates. He does mention Henry Day as his son-in-law (daughter Margery having died earlier), but he does not use the middle name Green. Now I am trying to figure out where that was first used. I have seen it several times and even know that there was more than one family friend named Green (as a first name) back in NC, but would like to know where that came from and find an official source where he is named that way.
Yes, I was aware that Green or Greene was Robert's middle name. I was thinking I should find some official document to quote before I put it on his profile here. You have provided it for me! I have a lot on Ancestry.com that is not always documented. I want to make additions to Cate info on Wiki-Tree, but I am trying hard to only put what has good sources. The Cate generations get overwhelming.... there are so many Roberts and Johns, etc., not all of whom are accurate.
