James McHenry was born on 27 Jun 1805 in East Mahoning Township, Indiana, Pennsylvania, United States, son of James McHenry (1779–about 1812) and Elizabeth (Stuchell) McHenry (1775–about 1851).[1]

James died on 22 May 1894 in Indiana, Pennsylvania, United States, aged 88. He was buried in Zion Cemetery, Porter, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.[2] [1]
James married Anna (Neal) McHenry (born on 22 Nov 1811 in North Mahoning Township, Indiana, Pennsylvania, United States; daughter of William N. Neal and Mary (Cunningham) Neal) on 6 Dec 1828 in Indiana, Pennsylvania, United States. Their known children were:
