SHEFFIELD AMOS A. Farmer; Sec. 14; P. O. Grand Detour; born in Stonington, Conn., Sept. 15, 1825; came to this Co. Nov., 1861; married Miss Elizabeth Scoafield; born March 5, 1833, in N. Y.; had five children --- Wm. E., born Oct. 25, 1854; May U., born Jan. 28, 1861; Charles A., born Oct. 15, 1862; Mark S., born Oct. 1, 1868; Amos H., born May 16, 1873; owns 617 acres land, valued a $10,500; has been Commissioner of Highways and School Director several years, and Constable three years.
