Biography

Ruth was born in 1774. On 15 Sep 1795 in Wake County, North Carolina, Ruth married John Sanders. The bondsman was her (possible brother) Avery Reeves. She passed away before 1850, as John Sanders is a widower living with his children in the 1850 census.

Narrative

Children of John Sanders and Ruth Reeves as listed in the will of John Sanders below:

Martha "Patsy" Sanders b. 1796 North Carolina, m. Edmund Ogletree (moved to Rusk, Texas)
Mary "Polly" Sanders, b. 9 Sep 1797 North Carolina, m. Turner Ogletree (moved to Talladega, Alabama)

Wiley Sanders, b. c1811, Georgia

Ruth Reeves married John Sanders in Wake County, North Carolina on September 15, 1795 with Avery Reeves as bondsman for the marriage. The 1790 census of Wake County listed a Jonathan Reeves with five male children at least one of which was over the age of 16 and several daughters. It is likely that both Avery and Ruth were children of Jonathan Reeves who died in Wake County in 1798. Jonathan was the son of Malachi Reeves born circa 1720.

John Sanders and Ruth left North Carolina residing in Wilkes County, Georgia for a time, then migrated to Franklin County, Tennessee, where John Sanders is listed on the 1812 tax lists and in the 1830 census can be found a few households from Avery Reeves.

Agreed, and I have approved my half of the merge. The merged profile should show Current Last Name as Sanders. It should also have the death date of "before 1850" (which agrees with information in the biography), and place as "Franklin, Tennessee, United States."
