Biography

Mary Holmes, was born February 5, 1712, the daughter of Richard Holmes and Hester Wormwell of Plymouth, Massachusetts^{[1] [2] [3]}

In 1729, Mary between the age of 14 and 21 years made the choice for Mr. Samuel Nelson of Plymouth to be her guardian.^[4]

On July 24, 1731, she married Thomas Kempton, Jr, the son of Thomas Kempton and Mary Bartoll of Boston, Massachusetts^{[5] [3]}, and their children included^[6]:

1. Margaret, born December 7, 1732^{[6] [7]}, who married William Carver^[3]
2. Mary, born June 15, 1736^{[6] [8]}, who died in 1736^{[9] [3]}
3. Richard, born August 28, 1739^{[6] [10]}, who married Fear Curtis and emigrated to Liverpool, Nova Scotia^[3]
4. Mary^[6], born circa 1742^[3]

Mary (Holmes) Kempton died on September 13, 1742^[3], and was buried in Plot 75 of Burial Hill Cemetery in Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts^[11]
