Michael Troxel, son of Johannes and Anna Maria Troxell (Trachsel) was baptized December 26, 1721 at Walsheim/Blies. He was born Dec. 25, 1721 at Wolfersheim, Germany. His sponsors were Michel Sieber, Anthoni Freydinger, Johann Mickel, Margaretha Hunsecker of Brietfurt, Germany, and Anna Christina daughter of Christian Brengel of Wolfersheim. He was a twin to Johan Nicklaus. When his parents immigrated to America he also came and was an early settler in the community of Egypt, Buck County, Pa.
Michael Troxel of Northhampton County, Penn. (Northhampton made from part of Bucks County), was naturalized at a Supreme Court held at Philadelphia April 10, 1761; Sacrament was taken March 20, 1761. (Penn. Archives, Vol. 2, page 350).
Jacob Rawn, Constable, on June 8, 1758 made a list and return of the number of wagons, draft horses and pack horses in the township of Whitehall, Northhampton County, Pa. Michael Troxel was listed with 1 wagon, and two draft horses. (Penn. Archives, Vol. 6, Series 6, page 10).
Michael Troxel, Adam Doeshler, and Eva Hoffman, sponsored the baptism of Maria Magdalena Neuhart, daughter of Michael Neuhart and wife Anna Barbara. She was baptized July 15, 1756. (Penn. Archives, Vol. 6, Series 6, page 10).
Margaretha, Michael Troxel's wife, Christopher Baer, Christopher Feichter and Margaretha Saeger were sponsors for Anna Lisa Hertsog, daughter of John Nicholas Hertzog and wife Maria Catharine. She was baptized Aug. 15, 1756. (Penn. Archives, Vol. 6, Series 6, page 10).

Michael Troxel purchased on Nov. 7, 1760 from his brother Nicholas and undivided half of 125 acres which Nicholas had purchased from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Nov. 29, 1751, which had been warranteed to their father John Troxell Jan. 18, 1737 Jan. 18, 1737. Which warrant became void by noncompliance. (Patent Book AA, Volume 1, page 300, Harrisburg, Pa.) Michael Troxel with his brother Nicholas purchased Oct. 25, 1760, 200 acres in Whitehall Township, Bucks County, Pa., later Northampton County, and now Lehigh County, Pa., which had been granted to Peter Pool Nov. 24, 1737. Michael moved his family to Gwynedd Township, Philadelphia County, Pa. now Montgomery County, between March 27, 1763, when his wife Margaretha was a sponsor to a baptism and May 15, 1765. On this date he purchased 145.5 acres of land in Gwynedd Township, Philadelphia County, Pa. from Matthias Bostian of the Township of Harfield, Berks County, Pa. and Catherine his wife, and Martin Schwenk of Gwynedd Township and Anna Maria his wife. This deed recites that it was sold to both Michael and Nicholas Troxell, but Michael in his will mentions that his brother Nicholas is indebted to him for his one half share. This land was sold to George Maris, by Michael's executors the undivided half of the 125 and 200 acres situated in Whitehall Township, Northhampton County, Pa.
On Sept. 20, 1757 Michael was appointed overseer of Highways. (Jack Salmon, 1969 Detroit Genealogical Society Magazine).
Michael paid taxes in Gwynedd Township, Philadelphia County, Pa. now Montgomery County, between Sept. 8, 1772, time of making his will and Oct. 1, 1772, time of probate. His wife's name was Anna Margaret. His will is registered in Will Book P., page 310, Philadelphia, Penn. He mentions his brother Nicholas being in Whitehall Township, Northhampton County, Pa. He appoints his own son John and his trusty friend John Troxell, my brothers son, as executors of his will. (This was the son of his brother John Peter.) He stated in his will that he was of the township of Gwynedd Township. yet he paid taxes in the township of Gwinedth, Philadelphia County, Pa. Gwynedd, Pa. is a small town not far from Norristown, also near Philadelphia. This is not far from a highway that was in existence at that time.
The record of the sale of Michael's land after his death is recorded in Philadelphia Grantor Deed Index, 1751-1781, Deed Book I (or J)-16-336, when his executors sold the land to George Maris.
In his will Michael gives the name of his wife as Anna Margaret, and names his children, they were as follows:
