Biography

There is uncertainty about Deborah's parents. There was a Deborah born to Gideon and Deborah Stevens on 8 Aug 1762 in Kingston, New Hampshire; however, old WFT records indicate Josiah's Deborah was the daughter of Francis George and Mary Ambrose who lived many years in western New Hampshire. The only reference available is the Flanders Genealogy which indicated Deborah was from Bradford, VT and that the couple lived in Bradford for many years. This would seem to favor the theory that Deborah is the daughter of Francis and Mary (or possibly a third couple?) but is by no means definitive proof. Until additional information is found, we will assume Deborah is the daughter of Francis and Mary.
