Asa Cummings was born on 18 Sep 1759 in Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, son of Capt. Thomas Cummings (1716 - 1765) and Anne (Kettell) Cummings ( - 1792).
Asa married Lydia Cummings (1770 - 1853) on 22 Jun 1782 in Andover, Essex. Their children were:
- Lydia (Cummings) Wheeler (1798 - 1881)
- Stephen Edson Cummings (1805 - 1863).
Asa's son was John Cummings (1792 - 1885).
Asa died on 22 Feb 1845 in Albany Township, Oxford, Maine, United States aged 85. He is buried in Hunts Corner Cemetery, Albany, Maine.
