Calvin Mackfering[1] Self was born on 13 September 1888 in Newbern, Tennessee.[2]
He married Mary K Justice from Paragould, Arkansas on 3 Feb 1909.[3]
He continued to live in Dyer County, Tennessee until approximately 1915-1918, when he moved to Woodward, Oklahoma.[4][5][6][1]
He registered for the World War I draft in Woodward County, Oklahoma on June 5, 1917. He gave his birth date as 13 Sep 1888 and his age as 29. He lived at 1609 5th street in Woodward, Oklahoma, and ran a gasoline filling station. He was described as tall and slender, with blue eyes and light hair. He claimed an exemption from the draft on the grounds of "poor health."[1]
He passed away on 1 Feb 1920 and is buried in Woodward, Oklahoma.[7]
