Biography

When Nellie Bly Chappel was born on August 26, 1886, in Tuttle, Oklahoma, her father, Andrew, was 31 and her mother, Eliza, was 22. She married Fred Carl Betche (1884–1953) on July 31, 1907, in El Reno, Oklahoma. She died on November 7, 1957, in El Reno, Oklahoma, at the age of 71, and was buried there.
