Mary Goodenow was born in Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts on April 5, 1712. She was the daughter of Samuel Goodenow and Sarah (Brigham) Goodenow.[1] She married Beriah Rice in Westborough, Worcester, Massachusetts on December 23, 1731.
[2] Mary arrived in Nova Scotia in 1760,[3] presumably on the Charming Molly with her husband Beriah. Mary died after 1764, as the will of Beriah Rice Sr. on June 27, 1764 left her one half of his farm on the east side of Bloody Bridge Creek in Annapolis Township. She appears to have been buried along with her husband in Annapolis Royal's Garrison Graveyard.[4] Online trees list her date of death as late as December 15, 1795, but this has not yet been documented.
